How to take care of your Chubby Candy jewellery?
The gold combinations are plated with a thick layer of 18Kt gold – but kindly note that the plating will be worn off with time. That's normal and not a reason for a claim. We highly recommend avoiding lotion, hairspray and other cosmetics to be in contact with your jewellery. Also, keep in mind to avoid exposing your jewellery to excess water, salt, sun, chlorine and other chemicals – especially the designs with freshwater pearls. Please store your jewellery in a dry room, in a jewellery box if you have one, but never in the bathroom. We don't recommend ever cleaning Chubby Candy bracelets using an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
How to take care of natural freshwater pearls?
Freshwater pearls are delicate and fragile and require special care. From a material perspective, they are relatively soft and can be easily scratched or damaged by many chemicals and all acids. This includes perfume, cosmetics, hairspray and even perspiration. Therefore, your freshwater pearl jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. With care, pearls can be worn daily, but avoid wearing them when exercising, showering, at the pool or on the beach is essential. The safest way to clean pearls is using warm, soapy water, gently removing any clouding or deposits with soft tools like a baby’s toothbrush or very soft microfibre cloth to avoid scratching the surface. Do not soak or submerge your pearl jewellery in water. Instead, rinse it briefly under a running tap and dry your pearl thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth immediately after cleaning.
